In need of some new equipment for your kitchen? Here is some of my favorite cooking equipment.

Cutting Board
This is, hands down, my favorite cutting board. The reasons for that are many including:
- It’s dishwasher safe
- It’s gentle on your knives
- The non-slip corners keep you from chasing it all over the counter
- The wood is sustainably harvested
- The 17.4 in x 13 in size is great for having plenty of space for meal prep
- It’s durable and lasts for years
I also love to have a non-wood cutting board on hand that I use exclusively for raw meat. Here’s one that I like:
This one is also:
- Dishwasher safe
- Non-slip
- Durable
Sharp Knife
A sharp, well-sized chef’s knife is the #1 piece of cooking equipment that will help you prep anything faster. My favorite is this one:
I have plenty of friends who laugh when I tell them this because it’s not “fancy” enough to be great. But trust me, I reach for this knife more than any other in my kitchen – $100+ varieties included. It’s awesome because:
- It stays sharp for a long time, even without honing
- The handle provides for a sturdy grip
- It has a nice weight and can cut foods precisely but also take on big, brutish jobs as well
Measuring Spoons and Cups
You probably already have these, so no need to buy new ones if so. That said, I love the sets below becuase they store really easily and are super durable.
Grater
If you don’t have a Microplane grater yet, I highly recommend that you get one stat. I love mine for grating citrus rinds, fine grating cheese like Parmesan, and grating garlic and ginger instead of finely mincing it.
Tubs to Store Freezer Meals for Instant Pot
These containers are great for making freezer meals that can be dropped directly into the Instant Pot to cook quickly. That way, you don’t have to do any defrosting ahead of time and you don’t have to fight with a misshapen frozen meal trying to get it to fit into your pot.
Instant Pot
If you haven’t yet joined the cult of Instant Pot, you’re missing out. We use ours at least twice a week to cook everything from rice to braised meats to stews to freezer meals. We don’t use the yogurt function much, but we still like having the option.
Slow Cooker
If you use your slow cooker right, it can feel a lot like having a personal chef make you dinner. After all, you prep the meal ahead of time and then come home to a home-cooked meal. We use our Instant Pot to slow cook, but if you are making slow cooked meals often, then it may be worth having a specific slow cooker as well.
